I'm Shaun, a proud dad, husband and self employed musician from Stockport - a self proclaimed music lover.
I am the DJ, the editor, the email replier, the Instagram poster, everything you see behind SBDJ Services is me, trying my best and absolutely loving the journey with the love and support from my wife Lauren, son Ted, and frenchie Bruce!
I feel like I work well under pressure, I think I probably do that better - which is why the stress of performing comes naturally. I absolutely love my job. Even without the qualifications and awards, I'd still feel as though I'm beating life by doing a job that involves celebrating the best day of customers lives!

Shaun, you we're sensational...
If you’re looking for someone who is not only amazing at their job but gets stuck it and is a genuinely nice person - book Shaun asap. The dance floor was filled all night and everyone loved the open Photo Booth, we’ve got so many great pictures from it to look back on. From the early stages of booking through to the final detail meetings Shaun was incredible, he gave really valuable and professional advice and made us feel at ease on our wedding day. Shaun works so hard and we cannot thank him or recommend him enough!
His sax playing was incredible.
We really have an eclectic taste in music and it was really important to us and having seamless music throughout the day that we didn't have to worry about. Shaun made it easy and we even got to send him playlists of all our favourite songs. He was adaptive to playing inside or outside, but because of the weather we had to have most of it inside. Shaun's DJ set up was super smart with the neon sign and not at all cheesy .The icing on the cake was the amazing album of photos he sent to us after the wedding - which were superb!
All round great guy, top DJ and musician.
After speaking to Shaun for 5 minutes before booking I knew he was gonna be fab but I wasn't quite prepared for what he delivered. He managed to keep the groom on the dance floor for 6 hours, happily took on any requests from our guests and played so many bangers that I ended up in minor injuries from dancing too vigorously in my heels.The sax was just another added bonus which everybody loved. A pleasure to work with, all around great guy, top DJ and musician.

Other things I do!
This is my full time job! With that being the case, I've ventured into other aspects of the event, wedding and entertainment industries alongside SBDJ Services, including Manchester Photobooths.
For example, in 2023 I opened UPSTUDIO, an independent recording studio catering for Wedding and Event entertainers offering bespoke content creation services, filming and recording promotional materials to share with their customers. This content is then also shared via my agency, The Groove. This picks up work I'm unavailable to fulfil, and carries contracts with hotel chains and venues in the North West looking for reliable, professional entertainment services.
All of these services all fall under the umbrella of UPLTD (Ultimate Productions LTD), and mean you can access great quality bundle discounts on entertainers, musicians, photobooths and more!
Frequently asked questions
Do you take a deposit?
Yes. For most package bookings, a simple 20% deposit is taken, as well as a signature on our contract to let us know that you're committed to the booking as much as we are! For more complex high value bookings, a 25% deposit may be requested to secure my attendance. You will be made aware of this from the outset, and the online payment methods are really simple to use.
How far do you travel?
I'm happy to travel where ever my work takes me. Unless included in your package, a standard fuel charge is added to any booking at 55p per mile, as well as £10.80 per hour (pro-rata) for journeys longer than 1 hour.
How would you describe your approach?
Firstly, I'm really laid back. It's all about you, and I'm happy to adapt my style to suit your day and your personality. I'm not overly talkative on the microphone, and it's all about the music - nobody really cares who sang the last song or what year it came out!
How do I check your availablilty?
That's simple: just get in touch! I refuse to take any money, or process a booking before I've had the opportunity to introduce myself and my services personally, whether that be via phone, email or even an in-person meeting. I also run our sister company, The Groove which allows you to book other DJ's and entertainers through our system.
Are you insured?
Yes! I carry all of the relevant documentation that your venue may request. This includes PAT Test Certificates, Public Liability Insurance up to the value of £5 Million, as well as Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Can I upgrade later?
Of course. Your initial deposit will remain valid, and secures your whole booking with me. If you choose to add any additional add-ons, I'll simply send out a new contract for you to sign with the amended information.
